SMT

Modernisation

Surface-Mount Technology

Surface Mount Technology is one of the most expensive and crucial setups when investing in Backward Integration, but has huge advantages in saving costs in terms of Custom Duty and Freight Cost. SMT helps us personalise our monitoring and customisation for our vision of Make In India.

The technology is an alternative to older through-hole printed circuit board design and manufacturing practices. This is a technology for a relatively modern style of printed circuit board design through which components and elements are mounted directly onto the surface of the board instead of putting wire leads into drilled holes.

Videotex has also invested in SPI Machine(Solder Paste Inspection) and 3d X-ray Machine for Strict Quality Control during PCB Assembly.

SMT is capable of fabricating PCBs more efficiently without losing reliability and quality. Videotex has 2 SMT lines installed with specialized machines from Yamaha, Juki, Ekra, VIT, and Omron. With a highly developed infrastructure, Videotex has an annual production capacity of 1.3 million PCBs.

Benefits of Surface-Mount Technology

Cost Saving

Design Flexibility

Smaller PCB designs can be created by increasing the component density on the board

Faster Production Set-Up

Circuit boards don’t have to be drilled for assembly.

Higher Circuit Speeds

Reduced/eliminated drilling and shorter set-up times increase manufacturing.

Stability

shaking/vibration mechanical conditions make SMT connections more reliable.
